Personality: Shawn doesn't put up with bullshit. She was born into the wolf pack, and she was raised knowing that her place was determined by her power, her strength and her drive to win. Shawn fought her way to the top of the pack, becoming the second in command before the old Ulfric just split one day. No one wanted to fight her for the position, knowing she had handed each and every other member their ass, or they had backed down from her. As a person, her drive has always been there. She has owned her restaurant since she was 22 years old and fresh out of college. She helped raise her baby sister when their parents died, and even before, she was a strong, determined young woman. Where her sister seems to attract trouble, Shawn seems to calm the waters. Her father called her his Serenity, saying no matter what the problem, even if she had to fight through it, by the end she had everything calmer than when it started. She faces every problem head on, and she runs the pack firmly yet fairly. She attracted an Ulfric who was willing to share her duties, not take them from her.
Biography: Shawn was the first child born into her family, and as such, her parents wanted her to be taught the ways of the pack. She was raised along side her mother's best friend's sons. She grew up running around with them, and the other children of the pack, knowing what she was the whole time. When she was four years old, her baby sister was born. Most only children dread when their sibling arrives, Shawn was excited. She wanted someone knew to play with and was very disappointed when Shane wasn't able to entertain her from day one.
Shawn was pretty good at including her baby sister in things. If she went to the movies with girl friends, Shane often came with. The only time her foot was put down was when a boy was involved. Shawn never wanted to share the boy she liked, and that included taking Shane on her dates. Movie nights at home, Shane was allowed to join in on. Shawn never cared and often would get rid of a guy if he threw a fit about Shane being around. Shane was there first and would be there last, Shawn didn't need the boy.
Shawn was sixteen years old when her parents died. She had cried for hours when Alexia came to get her from school and tell her what happened. When Alexia told Shane, Shawn ran after her sister. She knew where she'd go and she followed her, watching her run up into the treehouse. She let Shane stay out there for awhile, but when night fell and Shane didn't come back down, Shawn went in after her. She curled up on the old mattress with her sister, holding her as Shane fell into an emptiness. Shawn brought her up meals, trying to urge the girl to eat. She ate just enough to keep Alexia and Shawn from dragging her out of the tree house. Shawn worried but she also knew her sister and knew Shane had to come around on her own.
Shawn spent the next two years fighting her way up the pack. She was seventeen and fifth from the top. No one had ever been strong enough or had enough determination to fight that fast and hard and the fact she was a kid and a girl made it that much more impressive. She went to college close by, staying near her baby sister. She kept moving up the pack and by graduation she was second inline to the throne.
Shawn opened her own restaurant in Salem, The Black Rose. She had always wanted a place of her own. She loved to cook and she loved to dance, she merged the two. By day, her restaurant is a very family friendly place, opening at 11am to serve lunch and dinner. At 7pm the restaurant closes for an hour, while it is cleaned and the rest of the night staff comes in. At 8pm the doors reopen, allowing 18 and over in for meals. She has window boxes were her skantily clad dancers dance for the people who come to dance themselves. She has a glass ceiling where some of her girls dance. She has strict rules about the girls must be fully dressed, but in a very burlesque feel. She wants sexy and sensual without being a trashy strip club. Children could come in, but she feels at night this is a place for the adults to come and be adults.
To say that Shane went a little wild whenever she was a teenager was putting it mildly. Thankfully with Alexia's sons looking out for her, and her sister doing the same, she didn't get into too much trouble. She fell in love for the first real time her senior year of high school. He was all wrong for her. He was into the party life. He had dropped out of school, and he was a frequent user of drugs. She loved him though. At least she thought she did. They'd been together for a year whenever she walked into his apartment and found him in bed with another girl, stoned out of his mind. She took one look at it and in a week she was packed up and ready to go away to school. She couldn't stay there anymore. At least that's what she kept telling herself. She was running.
Two years ago, the original Ulfric walked away from the pack. One morning she woke up to a note on the pillow next to her saying the pack was her's and he wouldn't be back. When she told the pack, she knew she could be fought for it, but no one tried. No one wanted to take her on, they knew she'd have their best interest at heart and they kept a close watch on her and those around her. She was a good Ulfric. She didn't want complete power, but she refused to step down for anyone who wasn't qualified. She was also terrified to step down and have the pack lose another Ulfric for selfish reasons. Then she met Wyatt. He came into town and he promised her he'd do what she wanted. She made him earn it. She knew their inner wolves were matched, but she wanted to know if he could match her. She left a note 'Come find me' and she left. She had given him two days to find her. If he could do it, he was worthy, if he couldn't he wasn't. He found her the evening of the first day. He's been her Ulfric ever since, sharing her pack with her.
